Silver Plating in Flexible PCB Board Manufacturing

Flex Plus offers silver plating solutions, ensuring high electrical conductivity in select FPC applications. We employ silver plating where superior conductivity is paramount, meeting specific industry demands.

Immersion Silver Plating for FPC Board Reliability

Our FPC manufacturing includes immersion silver plating, providing exceptional conductivity and corrosion resistance. This method is utilized in select FPC applications where high reliability is essential.

Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold (ENIG)

At Flex Plus, we implement the Electroless Nickel Immersion Gold (ENIG) process for superior solderability and corrosion resistance in our FPCs. ENIG offers reliability and exceptional performance for high-end applications.

Plating Process

Plating Thickness

Usage

Gold (Au)

0.1 ~ 0.3 μm  (Immersion Gold)

 1 ~ 5 μm  (Electroplated Gold)

Used for high-end electronics, connectors, and high-frequency circuits. Provides excellent conductivity and corrosion resistance.

Silver (Ag)

1 ~ 5 μm

Offers excellent conductivity and oxidation resistance. Commonly used in high-frequency, low-resistance applications.

Tin (Sn)

5 ~ 25 μm

Commonly used for solderability and preventing copper oxidation.

Nickel (Ni) - Gold (Au)

Nickel Layer: 3 ~ 5 μm

Gold Layer: 0.1 ~ 0.3 μm

Used for connectors, pins, and BGA (Ball Grid Array) packages, providing mechanical strength (Ni) and excellent conductivity (Au).

Copper (Cu)

Internal Copper: 20 ~ 50 μm

External Copper: 15 ~ 35 μm

Copper plating is typically used for both internal and external conductive layers, enhancing electrical conductivity.

Palladium (Pd)

0.1 ~ 0.2 μm

Used for high-reliability applications such as aerospace, and often as a transition layer beneath gold or silver.

Tin-Silver (Sn-Ag) Alloy

5 ~ 15 μm

RoHS-compliant, used for lead-free soldering, replacing traditional Sn-Pb alloys in electronic soldering.
