The application of FPCB in Automotive

Flexible Printed Circuit is widely utilized in electric vehicles for various applications. Flex Plus has extensive experience in this field. In terms of glass, Flexible printed circuits can be integrated into smart windows for control and monitoring systems, enhancing functionalities such as tint adjustment. For lighting systems, Flex PCBs are used in the design and production of flexible LED light strips for automotive headlights and taillights, providing efficient and customizable lighting solutions. Additionally, FPCB is also applied in the power management systems of electric vehicles, ensuring reliable connectivity and control within the vehicle's powertrain components. Its flexibility, durability, and compact design make Flexible printed circuits a versatile and essential component in the advancement of electric vehicle technology.

PDLC Flex PCB

The application of flexible circuits in modern cars is becoming increasingly widespread, especially in the field of PDLC (Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystal) smart glass. PDLC smart glass can change transparency under the action of an electric field, achieving functions such as privacy protection and sunlight regulation. Flexible printed circuit uses high-temperature resistant substrates and optimized circuit design, and good heat resistance can effectively solve the problem of long-term exposure of car windows to sunlight.

Lighting systems Flex PCBs

Flex circuit can bend and twist, adapting to various complex shapes and space limitations. Supports 3D assembly and can be installed in various complex parts of the vehicle, such as the curved and irregular shapes of the headlights. Circuit design degree of freedom allows engineers to better optimize space utilization and system layout, enhancing the aesthetics and recognition of vehicles.

Since LEDs began to be used in the automotive industry and architectural lighting, the requirements for the shape and design of printed circuit boards have changed. For example, flexible PCB can be mounted with leds and then glued with aluminum sheets for heat dissipation. Mounted on the headlights, this makes full use of the available space while providing excellent heat dissipation.

Temperature and pressure sensors:
The high heat resistance and durability of the flexible printed circuit enable it to work reliably in high-temperature environments such as the engine compartment.

Position and angle sensors:
Position and angle sensors need to be installed in narrow and complex spaces. The flexibility of flexible printed circuit allows it to bend and fold to meet different installation requirements while maintaining high-precision signal transmission.

Acceleration and vibration sensors:
Sensors need to be able to withstand high-frequency vibrations and impacts generated during vehicle operation. Flexible PCB has excellent vibration resistance and reliability, ensuring stable operation of sensors under various harsh conditions.

Wiper wash Flex PCBs

FPCB can optimize power management in design, and reduce power consumption of wiper motors and control circuits. This has positive implications for improving overall vehicle energy efficiency and battery life.

Simplified wiring:
In traditional rigid PCB design, circuit wiring is complex and takes up a lot of space. Flexible PCBs can greatly simplify the wiring of wiper systems.

High integration:

Flexible printed circuit allows for the integration of multiple electronic components and sensors on the same circuit board, improving system integration. For example, the speed control, motor drive, and sensor signal processing circuits of the wiper can all be integrated into one flex board, reducing the number of independent components.

Anti-vibration performance:
It has excellent resistance to vibration and impact, which can withstand mechanical vibration and impact during wiper operation, ensuring circuit stability and long-term reliability.
